Simon Kaja, Ph.D., CEO & Co-Founder
Dr. Kaja is an experienced neurobiologist with more than ten years research experience in the academic, biotech and pharmaceutical industry setting.
Dr. Kaja holds an appointment to Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Medicine and serves as the Associate Director of Preclinical Research at the Vision Research Center.
The focus of his resarch program centers around human neurological and neurodegenerative diseases and visual disorders. Educated and trained in both Europe and North America, Dr. Kaja brings hands-on and managerial experience in experimental approaches ranging from molecular biology to electrophysiology and imaging to K&P Scientific LLC.
Dr. Kaja consults in his areas of primary expertise, translational research approaches to drug discovery for cerebellar ataxia and migraine as well aspects of advanced high-resolution live-cell imaging.
Andrew Payne, President & Co-Founder
Dr. Payne has completed his trainig in pharmacology and neuroscience and brings a strong background of entrepreneurship to K&P Scientific LLC.
Dr. Payne's research interest lies in drug discovery for neuro-degenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease, focusing on evolutionary conserved signaling pathways as novel targets.
With a vision for novel, innovative products for research, Dr. Payne heads the New Products division at K&P Scientific LLC and serves as President of the company.
